Cookies and device storage

How Blindsmiths keeps you signed in, remembers device preferences, supports offline work, and handles optional telemetry.

Last updated: 20 September 2026.

1. What this page covers

This page explains cookies and storage placed in your browser or on your device when you use Blindsmiths. These technologies have different purposes and do not all send information to another company.

2. Necessary cookies

Blindsmiths uses session and security cookies to sign users in, protect requests, and return users to the requested page after authentication. Disabling these cookies can prevent sign-in and authenticated features from working.

3. Local storage

Local storage remembers choices on the current browser, including appearance, theme, density, print-studio settings, and whether parts of the interface are open or closed. Clearing local storage resets those device preferences.

4. Offline device data

The installable application can use IndexedDB to keep approved offline records, pending work, and synchronisation state on the device. Service worker caches keep application files available and do not deliberately cache tenant-rendered pages. Shared-device users should sign out and clear site data when appropriate.

5. Telemetry

Sentry error and performance telemetry can be enabled by the Service operator. The application configures it without session replay or default personal-data collection and scrubs known sensitive fields before sending an event. Blindsmiths may also record limited server-side events needed to understand signup or service requests. These records do not require advertising cookies.

The current application does not include third-party advertising cookies, advertising pixels, or behavioural-advertising tools. If that changes, this page and any required choices will be updated before those tools are enabled.

6. Your controls

  • Use your browser settings to inspect, block, or delete cookies and site data.
  • Clear local storage to reset preferences on this browser.
  • Clear site data to remove offline IndexedDB records and service worker caches from the device.
  • Contact us before clearing pending offline work if you are unsure whether it has synchronised.

Questions can be sent through the contact page or to Blindsmiths@gmail.com.
