How voice billing works

The unit is minutes of connected time, billed per second (not rounded up to the minute), on the platform's OpenAI gpt-realtime-2.1 model. Muting the microphone does not stop the clock — only closing the assistant does.

What's included: a new workshop's three-day trial shares 5 voice minutes across everyone in the workshop. After that, each top-up pack is $49.00 for 60 minutes, shared by the whole workshop. Voice packs are one-time purchases and do not renew automatically — and, once purchased, the minutes do not expire.

Backend work during a call (the assistant looking things up or acting on what you asked) is included within each call's task budget — it is never a second, separate charge.

No automatic overage: once the minute pool is empty, voice stops — there is a hard stop, never a surprise bill. An admin tops up with an explicit purchase through Settings → Billing whenever they choose to.

Your own key: add your OpenAI API key in Settings → API keys with the BYOK module and voice runs on your own provider account instead — OpenAI bills you directly. Your daily voice limit still applies; ask support about availability beyond that limit.

Reading an image or an uploaded file uses the AI file allowance, not voice minutes.

Annual rates are set per module: BYOK is $84.00 / year, while product-family modules are $90.00 / year and the other operations modules use their listed annual totals; Production storage is billed monthly only. Extra operator seats are separate; modules are never charged per operator. Existing access is retained.

What stays included?

Core jobs, quotes, invoices, nesting, labels and data exports stay in your plan. AI and voice usage are separate. Accounting connections and advanced manufacturing automation are not sold as part of these modules.

Prices are shown in Australian dollars. Blindsmiths is not currently registered for GST and does not currently charge GST. If that changes, we will update the fees and our Terms before charging GST.
